HISPANIC TV UPFRONT REPORT-2017 EDITION HispanicAd.com/HispanicMarketOverview.com
What excites you about Hispanic TV as we move into 2018?
I am excited to see our new formats and launches come to fruition. We are diversifying our content and ramping up original productions and co-productions, which will continue transform Hispanic TV in the years to come. As consumption patterns and the new American mainstream continues to evolve, so will Univision as we aim to ensure we are meeting the needs of the audiences we serve. More than anything, we look forward to continuing our ratings winning streak to 2018 with Univision and UniMás as the no. 1 and no. 2 Spanish-language networks, respectively, the no. 1 sports network with Univision Deportes Network, and the no. 1 Spanish- language cable network with Galavisión.
There has been talk that Univision does not consider its chief rival a direct competitor. Who are Univision's direct competitors? What's the long-term formula for winning in a rapidly changing marketplace?
We consider EVERYONE our competitor. We know that our audiences have more options today than ever before, and that goes beyond the Spanish-language offerings. They are watching Netflix and Amazon and consuming content on Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter, as well as the broadcast and cable networks. Content continues to be king and we must all be on our A-game to engage audiences with the content they are passionate about, regardless of when and where they consume it from. We have the best talent bringing in fresh concepts, formats and content to our audience as we approach the changing marketplace.
