HISPANIC TV UPFRONT REPORT-2017 EDITION HispanicAd.com/HispanicMarketOverview.com
For example, with our Fusion Media Group, which includes the Gizmodo Media Group, The Onion, and El Rey Network we are serving different facets of the youth consumer. On the linear front, with our new Univision Network 8pm strategy, we saw a growth in viewership among Kids 2-17. Not only on Univision but on Galavision as well, we will hone in on what the research has told us—multigenerational co-viewing is important.
To kick off the summer we will launch Galaverano, which will bring never-before-seen in the U.S. programming for youth.
Hispanic sports fans have so many choices now. How is Univision playing in this arena, post-World Cup?
Univision Deportes has solidified its position as the undisputed home of soccer. We deliver three times more soccer than any other broadcaster. We continue to bring the best soccer leagues and coverage from around the world. Our commitment to bring soccer fans the quality coverage they deserve for any sports event including the 2018 World Cup is at full speed.
Throughout the tournament, Univision Deportes will broadcast a slate of pre-, post-, and in-game expert analyses and complimentary programming that will build a full 360-viewing experience across all of Univision’s networks and platforms.
What new digital opportunities are there across the Univision landscape, using OTT or YouTube channels, and Facebook Live, to reach younger Latinos?
Hispanics are at the intersection of mobile and social consumption, and we are delivering content through that lens to ensure our audiences can consume the content they are passionate about, regardless of platform.
We launched Univision NOW to deliver live streams of our Univision and UniMás networks as well as local newscasts, and the premier on-demand content at their fingertips.
[As of May 10, the Univision NOW service is available to consumers on the Roku platform.]
We partnered with Facebook to bring Liga MX and MLS matches produced by Univision Deportes, featuring our talent but narrated in English live via Facebook live. This builds on our existing efforts with Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat to bring content to our audience wherever they’re consuming.
The launch of Noticiero Univision Edición Digital is another fantastic example of how we are reaching younger and digitally connected Latinos. We know the important role influencers play with our audience—from our Univision personalities to our radio personalities, for UCI it doesn’t stop with our traditional platforms. We launched the Univision Creator Network in 2015 to further connect with bilingual millennials with content from the top Hispanic creators they love. For Univision Communications, reaching younger audiences has been part of our DNA.
