For Izzy Gonzalez, Director of Cross- Platform Sales for CNN en Español, U.S., and Hispanic media veteran Isabel Bucaram, CNN en Español U.S. Hispanic’s PR Liaison, bringing Latinos informative video content across all
platforms is task one.
This explains why Gonzalez is eager to discuss CNN en Español’s digital platform, now the No. 4 U.S. Hispanic unique platform on a monthly basis, according to comScore.
“We’ve grown exponentially in the last two years,” he says. “We weren’t even on the comScore ratings as a website two years ago.”
On the linear platform, CNN en Español has been with Nielsen for a year. “We have seen continued double-digit growth quarter after quarter.”
It appears cord-cutting hasn’t been a factor. “We owe that to the diversity of our programming, because we don’t just do news,” he notes. “We do entertainment news, health, lifestyle, technology, and sports. We have a very diversified programming grid, which is not a 24/7 news network.”
Is it different than what one would see in Mexico? No. “Our DNA is news but we program to Latinos, and Latinos are very interested in news, but from many different genres,” he says.
Gonzalez also says that when it comes to big-news events, “we out-deliver them.”

New documentaries are the focal point of CNN en Español’s Upfront efforts.
• The Road To 2020 – this begins with Voto Latino, in September 2019 and through 2020. It includes everything regarding the election.
• Census 2020 – this is a separate initiative focused on the concept that viewers count, hence the name ¡Tu Si Cuentas!
• Proyecto ser humano – an effort that puts a focus on overcoming violations of human rights and how we can all combat these indignities. Gonzalez explains that this is
