It’s like the feeling is mutual between Acosta and her team at Wells Fargo, thanks to her extensive experience within several multicultural marketing and advertising agencies. Prior to August 2016, Acosta served as the Senior Director for Brand Marketing in the Hispanic segment for the University of Phoenix. But, from 1994 through 1999, she worked in client services and account management for The Bravo Group. From there, she spent eight years as Managing Director in San Francisco for Dieste. That led to a two-year stint, starting in January 2008, as Managing Director and VP of New Business and Innovation at Miami-based Alma.
Given that agency experience, is there one thing in particular that Acosta harkens back to when developing and executing work for Wells Fargo? “I am very lucky to have worked at Almo, Bravo and Dieste,” she says. “It helped me to better understand the creative process, and to better understand the agency point of view. It provided the right guidance to help me make the work better.”
With better work from a better bank Acosta’s No. 1 goal, Wells Fargo could well be on its way to an important rebirth. Hispanics included in the effort will be Acosta’s true cause for celebration.
